Whats going on

So you are a small business owner.  So am I.  Costs can be high I know.  Just to provide money to live in a struggle.  I decided I needed work doing on my workshop.  OK im no Joiner not by a long shot.  I visit YouTube to find helpful tips and I get some but I need a professional.

What I wanted was new doors cupboards and general look of my workshop changing.  Something more practical more workable if that’s a word.  So I called up a local Wirral Joinery company.  There’s many I agree.  I tell him what I need and he says he can do that.

Joiner or Joinery is not something you see every day I admit.  But they are skilled craftsmen and once the ideas are discussed plans are drawn up to get the work done.  I agree I could of gone to a DIY shop and bought it all in myself but in the long run its better to get a local professional company in.

A skilled joiner knows all there is needed to know to create the perfect craftsmanship high quality work that shows he respects the materials he is working with.  Not only that when its done I have somewhere cool practical that I can be happy to work.  So as a small business owner there is always going to be costs involved I understand this but you have to spend to make money.  I recommend having a good local joiner in to do the work for you.

How do I promote my work

Getting noticed the best way

So I decided to get online with my work.  Most people in the world now surf the web and so why not put my work inform of these people.  So I decided to get online.

Now I have built myself a website, not the best but you know its on there so I guess folk would start seeing it.  Well I waited and waited and nothing.  You see the internet isn’t magical where you make a website and then everyone sees it.  Oh great what should I do?

Maybe I need to promote the site through flyers or business cards.  So I did, cards made and distributed everywhere I could think.  Next I put flyers up in busy areas like shopping centres but nothing.

How do I promote my work?

I researched how to get noticed online. I came across something called Search Engine Optimisation. Or in short SEO. This is how you basically get your website to show up on the internet, when people are looking for something your website shows up.

Who did this for me?

As much as I wanted to I couldn’t do it myself.  I asked around and I found a top firm to do this for me.  And as now I am up there and people can see my work.  I recommend getting it done.

I took pictures of someone cleaning windows in Stockport

Photographing people at work gives you a real life glimpse into what goes on in everyday life. Often it’s just great to see all what goes on when everyone is busy throughout the day.  You see busy city centre operating throughout the day and all the workers that keep the city going or in contrast the farmer is ploughing a field!

In a busy city centre you can photograph anyone as it’s always too busy to notice you, but in a more quiet setting it maybe best to ask if you can take the picture!  That’s what I did with a window cleaner, don’t know why I took these pictures just did.  So how do I request permission?   In this instance I went to http://windowcleanerstockport.com/ and just asked him.  Great when he said this was fine.

This works fine as most people are proud of their work and it provides a great advertisement so when I requested that the best window cleaning company in Stockport to take photos it shows how hard someone is working.

The best thing I think about taking pictures of a window cleaner is that all the props are there, the lighting is there and the atmosphere.    So I just use a normal lenses and snap away.  There is the option to use the area for different angles and this will give your great pictures all of the time.

So just a little bit about how I go about photographing people at work.  Whenever you see a window cleaner just ask you never know!

The right wedding photographer

How To Choose The Right Wedding Photographer

…..And Feel Like A Star On Your Wedding Day!

Why should you trust your memories to a Professional Wedding Photographer?

It’s essential you hire a good, professional wedding photographer for your big day if you want wonderful wedding photographs. Wedding pictures will last a lot longer than the flowers, food and drink. You’ll be able to relive your wedding day every time you look at your photographs. You need a Stockport Wedding photographer who understands what you want and can be relied upon to capture every minute of your special day. The right wedding photographer can make you feel like a star!

When you hire a professional photographer, look for the following:

1. Specialized and well kept professional equipment (includes a medium format camera aside from a professional 35mm camera).

2. A valid and legal sales tax license.

3. Ask for latest proof of business insurance.

4. A permanent studio.

5. Membership in a professional photographic association.

6. Examples of recent work

Important points to consider:

Photographer’s level of experience and references – check the photographer’s background and ask for references. Meet with the referees personally in order to look at the photographer’s work as well as ask them if they were happy with the outcome of the work. Personally, I wouldn’t hire a photographer who hesitates to give references.

Photographic style – do the images appeal to you? Do you like the http://www.pwmphotography.co.uk/ style?

Personality – are the photographer’s ideas the same as yours? Can you communicate with him/her easily? Does he/she understand what you want regarding the style of photography?

Packages – ask about each package presented to you and the cost. If you’re not comfortable with the packages, can the photographer make one to satisfy your needs?

Accomplished work – ask how long it will take to finish your album, your bridal portrait and all the photos taken during the wedding.

Price – can you afford this photographer? Take the time to ask all that you need to know and make sure you understand all services and photos included in the cost.

Payments and deposits – if you cancel, can you get a refund? If the photographer, in any circumstance, does not show up, what happens? Can a partner take his place? Make sure you clear all of this with the photographer as well as discussing all your concerns. If the photographer’s answer doesn’t satisfy you, look elsewhere.

Contract – check and read it carefully before signing. If there’s anything that you don’t understand, ask for clarification or ask the photographer to leave you the contract overnight so you can study it. Make sure the contract includes everything you agreed on.

When looking at the photographer’s work, look for the following:

1. Each sample album must consist of only one wedding. Are there a lot of sample albums?

2. Is there a recent actual wedding that you could look at? Look through the photographer’s most recent wedding album.

3. Study each album well and see if the album tells the story of the wedding; not just similar photos filling up the album.

4. Are the portraits clear and did the photographer capture the subject’s mood?

5. Are all the photos done artistically? Is there a play of light and shadow?

6. Are candid shots taken? Are they clear and well composed?

Remember that your wedding photographs will remind you of your special day and can last forever. Once you have chosen the right photographer, enjoy being the center of attention on your big day. That doesn’t mean you have to act like Bridezilla, but you can certainly enjoy feeling like a star on your wedding day.
